WELCOME TO SUMMER READING 2026!
Dear Patrons,
I’m excited to invite you to join the Fayetteville-Lincoln
County Public Library’s 2026 Summer Reading
Program: Caution! Readers Under Construction!
This summer, we’re celebrating builders, creators,
problem-solvers, and lifelong learners of all ages. Through
books, hands-on activities, special guests, and exciting programs, we’ll spend the summer building new skills, strengthening our imaginations, and laying the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. One of the things I’m most proud of is that our Summer Reading Program is designed for all ages. Whether you’re sharing picture books with your little one, exploring new adventures as a teen, or discovering your next favorite read as an adult, there’s a place for you in our Summer Reading community.
Our age categories are:
-
0-5 years
-
6-12 years
-
13-17 years
-
18+
Here's how it works:
Participants will complete weekly reading goals and track their progress through fun construction-themed challenges. Ages 0–5 will build a Reading Toolbox, ages 6–12 will create a construction crew member, ages 13-17 will design a Reading Town inspired by their week of reading, and adults will build a Reading Worksite throughout the summer.
Participants ages 0–12 will earn weekly prizes and have the opportunity to be entered into grand prize giveaways by completing the full program. Teens and adults who complete their summer reading goals will be entered into grand prize drawings of their own.
We’ve also carefully built a summer full of enriching and entertaining programs, events, and special guests, creating opportunities for readers of all ages to learn, explore, create, and connect.
At FLCPL, we believe reading helps build strong minds, confident learners, and connected communities. We invite you to grab your hard hat, join the crew, and help us build a summer filled with learning, discovery, and fun. We can’t wait to see what we can build together. See you at the library!
See you at the library!
