Below are some Frequently Asked Questions. If you do not find the answer to your question, please call us directly at 931-433-3286 or email

  1. What do I need to get a library card? A photo ID with a valid Lincoln County address. If you are new to town and do not have an ID with your current Lincoln County address, you may bring in a piece of mail you received while in Lincoln County, or other documentation that verifies your residence in Lincoln County. A student ID may be substituted for a Driver's License or State License with supporting documentation.

  2. How long do I get to keep my DVDs and books? 2 weeks. Books and DVDs can be renewed up to 2 times if no holds have been placed on those items. Renewals can be done online by logging into your account through the "Catalog" tab on this website.

  3.  How can I reserve a book or DVD if it is checked out? Materials can be requested online through the "Book Request" form, reserved online by logging into your account through the "Catalog" tab, or by calling 931-433-3286.

  4.  Do you have E-Books? Yes! Click on the "R.E.A.D.S" tab above to access our digital book collection. You will need to choose Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library, then log in with your library card number. If you need any help, our staff is available to help you in person or by phone.

  5. How much are faxes? $2.00 for the 1st page and $1.00 per each additional page. To receive a fax is $1.00 per page. Our fax number is 931-433-0063.

  6.  How much is a copy or print? $0.25 for black and white and $0.50 for color ink.

  7.  Can I book the meeting room? Yes. The meeting room form is at the front desk or you can reserve it by phone. Our meeting room is available for no cost, though all meetings are to be open to the public and no meetings can charge money for entry to the meeting.

  8. How do I find out about kids/teens activities? Check out our "Events" page and calendar. Activities for teens are held every week (ARTE classes meet Tuesdays from 4-6). Tuesday Tots for toddlers is held every week at 9:30 am, and a story time for pre-school age children is every Wednesday at 10:00 am. A Summer Reading Program is held every year to encourage reading and learning between school sessions.

  9. How do I use a computer at the library? You simply "check out" a computer at the front desk. All of our computers have the Microsoft Office Suite, Internet access, and more. To check out a laptop for in-house use, a photo ID must be left at the front desk.

  10. Do you have free WiFi? Yes. Bring your own device and enjoy our free WiFi during all open hours. Simply ask at the front desk for the access code.

  11. Can my child use a computer to do their homework? Yes. According to CI PA regulations, children under 14 must have a parent, sibling, or other guardian over the age of 18 to use an adult computer. This is for their protection.

  12. Can I drop my kid off at the library? Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult while in the building.

  13.  The library is closed and I need to return my books. What do I do? You can either renew through our website under the "Catalog" tab, or return them in the book drop on the East wall of the building.

  14. My project/paper is due tomorrow. Where do I start? Try Tennessee Electronic Library, which provides free databases, literature resources, test prep, articles, videos and much more. All TEL databases are primary sources and will generate an MLA or APA citation for free.

  15. Do you take donated books? Yes. We take nearly all types of donated books. Paperbacks are generally placed in the "Free book" section of the library. Hardbacks will either be placed into the library's collection or put into our Friends of the Library book sale. A receipt is available for your taxes.
